Iran's Permanent Representative at the United Nations Gholamali Khoshroo recited during the organization's General Assembly's meeting part of His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei's letter to the youth in the West, announcing that the goal of addressing such message is to present the original vision from the heart of the Muslim world to the young recipients on the level of fighting terrorism.
Khoshroo added during the General Assembly's special meeting to discuss international peace, held under the title of "Culture of Peace" that "the peace noted for in the UN's document is not a peace resulting from power and hegemony, but it is described with effectiveness and mutual respect."
He further said that: "The culture of peace may be revived by combatting poverty, discrimination, injustice and occupation. Peace also depends on forgiveness, justice, mutual respect, constructive treatment, and holding dialogues between cultures and civilizations."
Separately, Khosroo mentioned Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's initiative on representing the international project to confront violence and extremism, ratified by the UN's General Assembly two years ago, adding that "the path of developments in the past two years is evidence on the rationality of Rouhani's initiative."
