Lebanon Raids: Would-be Suicide Bomber Arrested

The Lebanese Army and security apparatuses Friday mounted a series of raids in Beirut and the north, arresting additional terror suspects, including a would-be suicide bomber, linked to last week's deadly twin blasts, south of Beirut.
Meanwhile, Army commander General Jean Kahwagi vowed Friday to continue the military's "relentless battle" against terrorism and to strike its cells with an "iron fist".
For its part, General Security confirmed it had arrested a would-be suicide bomber during its ongoing campaign against terror networks.
During the investigation, the man confessed he belongs to the al-Nusra Front, Syria's al-Qaeda affiliate, and was plotting to carry out a suicide attack using an explosive belt.
In a separate raid, seven bombs and wires used to manufacture explosives and detonators were found in a bag near a trash container on a street in Qibbeh neighborhood.
The Lebanese Army immediately sealed off the area and closed entrances to the street. A military bomb expert inspected the area and confirmed the presence of seven bombs, which were removed from the area, security sources said.
In a related context, General Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim said: "Our security achievements have made us a target for "Israel" and the Takfiri enemy. Therefore, I call on all the military to be vigilant in and around their bases and homes, and to care for their own security."
Ibrahim further warned members of security agencies against passing on any information they know to even their closest friends or through social media.
