Regional Settlement Arrangements: Mohammad Bin Salman King
Nidal Hamedeh
As Vienna's final talks on the Iranian nuclear dossier approached their end, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius went to Washington and frankly told the Americans that his country wants its share from the economic deals to be sealed with Tehran and does not want to see the Libyan experience happen again, when the Americans got all the economic bonds and controlled Libyan lands while the French were left empty-handed.
French Parliamentary sources well-informed of the Iranian and Syrian dossiers told al-Ahed news that "Russia and the US have agreed on the fact that the danger of "ISIL" is great and will spiral out of control, especially after it has reached Afghanistan and Pakistan. This has led to the interference of Russia, China and India, in an attempt to detect US intentions and to what extent it is serious in the war against "ISIL"."
According to the sources, Moscow said that ending the war in Syria is the first step towards a settlement on all stuck files, and a starting point for ending the blazing wars in Yemen and Iraq, which will allow dedicating time to fighting terrorism. This is what Washington approved of, asking for some time to organize its situation with its allies in a period that would not extend beyond the end of the current year.
In addition, sources also said that countries that wish to resume communication with the Syrian government are now Jordan, the UAE, and Egypt, while Turkey and Qatar refused such a move. Meanwhile, Washington is trying to seal an all-inclusive deal in the region with Saudi Arabia's Mohammad bin Salman, where the provisions of the Saudi domestic ruling would be a guarantee to the Saudi king and his son Mohammad in return for moving forward towards the comprehensive settlement and its whereabouts.
Furthermore, the sources explained that the effort on Saudi Arabia began last April during the Camp David summit between US President Barack Obama and high ranking officials from Persian Gulf states, where Saudi Mohammad bin Salman was present and met a few American officials away from the limelight.
The second station was Bin Salman's visit to Moscow, and the third was in the Qatari capital Doha, where the American, Russian and Saudi Foreign Ministers met a week ago, which actually put the arrangements of the settlement in action initiated by two visits made by the Syrian President's special advisor, Brigadier Ali Mamlouk, to Saudi Arabia.
The French sources also spoke about arrangements for a regional settlement, which saw light because of the nuclear deal. The sources said that most probably there is a barter taking place with Saudi Arabia, particularly with the King and his son, where Russia and the US guarantee that Salman would be the heir to his father and would be supported in face of royal family members opposing the move.
In return, Saudi Arabia would have to stop its harsh war against Bashar al-Assad's government in Syria, and accordingly, the arrangement for the ruling hierarchy in Saudi Arabia would work as follows:
First: issuing a royal order to isolate Mohammad bin Nayef from being crown prince.
Second: issuing a royal order to assign Mohammad bin Salman as crown prince.
Third; Russia and the US would guarantee that this process would be followed, by an assurance that rule will in fact be transferred from the king to his son Mohammad bin Salman when the time comes.
