Passion
Ibrahim Al Amin - "Al-Akhbar"
After getting done with the burial of martyr Imad Moughniyeh, about 7 years ago, the family gathered at their grandfather's place. Alongside little silence, the attendees heard a direct question: "which of us will go out tomorrow to tell everyone, family, friends, and the enemy, loud and clear: "we did not get killed" ?
Everyone looked at Mustapha, the great martyr's elder son. Mustapha was his father's friend. He was right there next to him on many trips, and at a lot of times. Perhaps he had heard from him much more than the rest of his siblings had. But he did not take long before giving a clear answer: it is not me who is suitable for such mission!
He was clear, for whoever had the decisions at the time, that Mustapha was drawing for himself the picture he wanted, and that he wanted a way out of this assignment. Everyone turned towards Jihad. The young man between Mustapha and Fatima. He knew that his options are narrowing down. Perhaps he was more prepared for such a responsibility. He agreed... The speech got arranged and trained for. When he went up the podium, no one was expecting him appearing before the crowds as a man older than his true age. He was more than just calm.
On the contrary, he was a convincing speaker that "We Did Not Get Killed"!
Whoever knew Jihad at that time, knew him as a mischievous boy. A boy who is getting parent's forgiveness, however is under the surveillance of a caring, yet strict eye. That eye that made put him in the position of being constantly followed by others. Mustapha kept getting away from the lights more and more. While Jihad, who got chosen to take action in the post-"subjection to light" period, kept running here and there, sticking to Fatima who found herself suddenly, becoming the witness of her father's age.
Many things force themselves upon this family as a law. The enemy's eyes chasing the family are non-stop. It is a family that has martyrs as much as it has patience and preparation or even more. It is more than enough to listen to Haj Imad's Mother, and look at the face of Haj Fayez's face, to know the title of a tale that is yet to be written, with Jihad a chapter within.
The lively young man, got pushed by the moment of exiting towards the light, towards intense examination in many fields. With time, it was not possible to leash the strong will driving him to volunteering for many roles. The matter here, doesn't have to do with him just being the son of "The leader of both victories," but is because he got an opportunity to prove himself in facing and meeting severe requirements. Jihad sought to conquer the characteristic of the legal leader to a journey- A journey that does not require further explanation for whoever belongs to it, that the grand prize in it is becoming martyr.

On a hill that brings him closer to god, lived "Abou Issa" the life of a mountain.
He never felt bored walking about that mountain, up and down, so he planned for his house to be just off it, as if it were his eternal bodyguard, looking from an angle to a far distance. Hiding a tiny chair, under an Oak, that looks like all the trees that hid him all this time from the eyes of the enemy.
"Abou Issa" learned the first letters of the resistance with a whole generation of the first resistors. And a second generation walked behind him leading the journey chasing the enemy in the land of the South. A third generation accompanied them in the journey of protecting the resistance from the internal enemies who are connected to the first external enemy.
The story of "Abou Issa" with the mountain, and the resistance is a very long one. Years have passed on his uprooting in its soil, and his journey lasted for more than he had expected. Born from a Syrian father and a Lebanese mother, whom which he lived with the life of her town, and her people. Until his moment came. It might be a coincidence, or rules carved in a narrow corner of the mind, or it might be a divine wisdom that lead him, after tours in Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, where he became a martyr, as he wished, on the hands of the very "Israelis" he had hunted down, until he fell, a martyr in the land of his fathers and ancestors.
Safaa, Um Issa, the woman awake with all her senses, knows him very well. She knows that ever since he met her, he kept leaving her at nights, and sunsets, running away to his continuous and declared beloved. Safaa was not any better than the resistance at seducing him.
She was too worried for him. But he, used to laugh, training her to seeing him a martyr.
Safaa was incapable before his true love. As if God wanted her prepared for an awaited day. She dreamt of him as a martyr, with her setting up mourning sessions for him, at least only in her sleep she did. She even trained to weep him. But she woke up, at a moment, with a scar in her heart, to carry in her womb his child who witnessed who the mother- the companion, declares the end of an eternal love journey, and with what suits the lovers, then she proceeds announcing him a groom for the resistance.
