Palestine... It’s the Best Time for Confrontation
Naser Qandil - Al-Binaa newspaper
- There is a prevailing theory in the Arab political media in general, and in the Palestinian medium in specific, which implies that "Israel" exploits times when the world is eventful - especially when the Arabs are taken by their woes and interests; it is during such times that "Israel" launches its major wars. From this very theory springs another, which suggests that the national Palestinian factions and its supporters in the Arab arena should avoid provoking "Israel" or even replying to its hassles, in order to prevent "Israel" from exploiting the situation and taking such provocation as a good pretext to launch its war.
- This theory assumes that "Israel" has something to fear on the international and arab levels, which prevents it from waging a war. Hence, overcoming moments of preoccupation in the Arab world as well as in rest of the world, and the return of calm and normal circumstances provides the Arabs in general - the Palestinians in particular - the required immunity in face of the risks of an "Israeli" war.
- There is no need to discuss or review the history of "Israeli" wars and its contradiction or coherence with this theory. Yet, confidently, we can say that since the July 2006 war, "Israeli" wars have entered a new phase of calculations and considerations that control the decision of going to war, which certainly includes "Israel's" experience in the three wars with Gaza in 2008, 2011 and 2013.
- Today, before the Arab and world scenes, the question is: How will Palestine deal with the Palestinian-"Israeli" confrontation that has been witnessing escalation? At the time that the world and the region head towards confrontations [with "Israel"], that will lead to neither victory nor defeat but rather settlement drawn by balances. It also seems that these settlements will be determined through what is beyond military capabilities, especially after sectarian and religious segments in Arab societies became a major player in drawing the balance of powers.
- In this context, there are two things to note. First, Palestine is not part of the agenda, and second, the resistance alliance which is target to sectarian division does not own a magic formula, but can defeat such strife through Palestine.
- Those who support Palestine, it shall support them as well; this is the mutual equation that the resistance axis and Palestine share.
- Palestine should be present in battle; otherwise, "Israel" will be able to ignore the cause and claim reconciliations as an international obligation to the rights of its people. Then, the resistance alliance will have to make balances on the basis of sectarian division, and cannot bring back its authenticity except through a battle called, Palestine.
- Today, Palestine boils as it witnessed one of the most heinous crimes committed by Zionist settlers who killed a Palestinian boy and burned his body. This constitutes a failure to the negotiations and the shakiness of the Palestinian reconciliation which leads to more political void. The third intifada [uprising] seems to be based on the capabilities of the Palestinian resistance fighters - they are young men who chose again to come down to the ground again- and have created a balance of terror.
- "Israeli" discloses messages through the Egyptian government to the Palestinian factions that aim at retrieving calm. This implies that "Israel" thinks twice before starting a confrontation, but it will not restrain its settlers. Meanwhile, the resistance, which awaits the right time to adjust balances and include the reconciliation program as well as protect the resistance and stop the Palestinian authority's security coordination with the occupation, will not find a better chance to do so.
- The resistance axis - engaged in a dual-battle in the region against the ally of the US war and the Daesh charlatanism- needs to redirect its compass and confront "Israel." Solely confronting "Israel" will rearrange alignments and uncover the true roles before the eyes of the people - only then will the truth of Daesh be revealed.
- It is the right time for Palestine, all times are right for Palestine.
