Amnesty international has slammed Bahraini government for the violation of human rights and for the lack of reform of the judiciary in Bahrain.

It has further called on the Bahraini government to halt human rights violations, and to stop a crackdown on hospitals where doctors and patients suspected of being sympathetic to pro-democracy protests have been arrested.

This objection came in a statement issued on Monday, after delegates from the rights group visited Bahrain between May 3 and 9, and met ministers and senior officials, survivors of human rights abuses and relatives of victims, human rights activists, and political associations.

Amnesty International showed its concern towards the "continuing detention of prisoners of conscience and the harsh sentences." It further stated that among the detainees are women, who have received long jail terms based on "confessions" they said were extracted from them under pressure, and with little evidence to substantiate criminal intent.

"The government is refusing to release scores of prisoners who are incarcerated because they called for meaningful political reforms and is failing to address the majority's deeply seated sense of discrimination and political marginalization, which has exacerbated sectarian divides in the country," the statement added.
Since 2011, scores of Bahraini anti-regime protestors have been killed and thousands have been injured and arrested during peaceful demonstrations in their call for political reforms.
