The European Union and the US voiced support for their ongoing negotiations with Iran in an effort to fully reach a comprehensive deal over Iran's nuclear energy program, as was issued in a joint statement on Wednesday.
Following a meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, EU and US officials issued a joint statement saying they would "continue to make every effort to ensure a successful" resolution to the nuclear issue.
The statement further pointed to the February round of nuclear negotiations, saying that the discussions led to "an understanding on the key issues that need to be resolved, and in a timetable for negotiations over the next few months."
"Efforts must now focus on producing a comprehensive and final settlement," the statement stressed, hailing the interim nuclear accord signed between Iran and the P5+1 countries in Geneva last November.
Iran and the P5+1 countries have been holding talks following the nuclear agreement which was reached on November 24, 2013 in Geneva. The countries are attempting to work out a comprehensive deal over Iran's nuclear energy program and to loosen the sanctions imposed on Iran.
The next round of talks are set to resume on April 7-9.
