Hizbullah announced Wednesday the martyrdom of the leader Hajj Hassan Hawlo Lakkis.
In its statement, Hizbullah revealed that the martyr was assassinated near his home at St. Therese in Beirut's Dahiyeh (Southern Suburb), upon returning from work.

The following is the complete statement:

Around 12:00 o'clock evening on Tuesday, one of the Islamic Resistance leaders, the Mujahid brother Haj Hassan Hawlo Lakkis was assassinated in front of his home in the St. Therese area, upon returning home from work.
Thus, he joined the blessed caravan of martyrs.
The martyred leader Hassan Lakkis spent his youth, in fact all his lifetime serving this honorable resistance since it came to light and until the last hours of his life.
He was a real mujahid, and a creative leader who adored martyrdom. He was the father of a mujahid who was martyred in the 2006 July war.
No doubt, "Israel" is the main suspect for this assassination, especially that it tried to target our martyr brother many times and in more than one area.
However, all its attempts failed until it carried out this treacherous assassination overnight.

In response, this enemy should bear full responsibility and all consequences of this heinous crime, and bear responsibility of the frequent targeting to the resistance leaders and dear cadres.

The perseverant resistance, which has presented an elite of its leaders and mujahideen as martyrs on the path of achieving freedom and dignity, announces today to its noble and great people the martyrdom of this beloved and dear leader.

It further expresses its condolences and glory to his noble family, praying that Almighty God accepts him with the martyrs and that he join the chaste Prophet Mohammad and his household (pbut).
