An Egyptian court ordered the release of the ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Wednesday after facing charges of a corruption case.
Moreover, Mubarak's lawyer told Reuters that Mubarak could be freed from prison on Thursday, seeing that the case was the last remaining legal grounds for his detention.
However, Mubarak is being retried on charges of killing protesters during the 2011 uprising that led to his ouster, and has been held in detention since April 2011.
But he has served the maximum time of pre-trial detention permitted.
The move is likely to fuel the unrest looming the country ever his successor's ouster last month and the crackdown on protesters calling for the reinstatement of President Mohammad Mursi.
