N Korea Slams South for Comments during Military Drills

North Korea on Tuesday accused South Korean President Park Geun-Hye of war provocations after Seoul had kicked off a joint military drill with the United States a day before.
North Korea slammed comments made by Park at a meeting of her National Security Council coinciding with the start of drills on Monday, in which she reiterated that South Korea shouldn't forget about war "no matter how peaceful things are."
The 10-day Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise is a largely computer-simulated drill that plays out the scenario of a North Korean invasion.
Pyongyang criticism came by the North's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea stated that Park's comments were an "agitation for extreme confrontation".
Both Koreas in recent weeks had eased tensions noticeably when they agreed last week to reopen the shuttered joint Kaesong complex since April and when they agreed to hold reunions for the families separated during the 1950-1953 Korean war.
