Suleiman: Golden Formula Valid, As Long As Not Controlled by Specific Side

President of the Lebanese Republic, Michel Suleiman ardently condemned the way by which some Lebanese depict the Lebanese state as a ‘failure', at the time all surrounding nations are fighting to attain the democracy that Lebanon enjoys.
Suleiman considered that commitment to the Baabda declaration is the sole means to protect Lebanon's unity and stability, adding "also commitment to a national defense strategy protects Lebanon in face of "Israel"."
Delivering a speech on Monday upon his arrival to the summer presidential residence in Beiteddine, Suleiman assured the army-people-resistance formula is valid as long as it's not controlled by one specific side, pointing out that the Lebanese state was the most worthy of administering this formula.
Moreover, Suleiman iterated the importance of abiding to this formula, in order to preserve the Resistance.
"As I said before during my army day speech, the national capabilities, the army, state, and Resistance do not belong to one sect or group, these belong to the country," Suleiman reminded.
On the governmental level, Suleiman intensified pressure on both camps of the Lebanese divide to agree over a new cabinet formula the soonest possible, especially in light of the looming constitutional deadlines.
"Yesterday, we postponed the Parliamentary elections in a bid to come out with a new electoral law. We hope this law would see the light soon, as time is running out and we can't wait any longer," warned Suleiman.
Suleiman noted there should be formed a cabinet capable of functioning in line with the national dialogue table.
Wrapping up on this point, he said "We will voice what the people are really thinking. We've had enough of lying to one another. We have to hold an honest discussion at the dialogue table."
