Suleiman Ends Tehran visit after meeting Rohani, Deliberates Bilateral Ties

The Lebanese President, Michel Suleiman, on Sunday winded up his one-day visit to Iran, where he took part in Iranian President Hassan Rohani's swore-in ceremony and held bilateral talks with the new Iranian leader.
The new Iranian President pledged to uphold the constitution and protect the official religion of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
President Suleiman held a meeting with his new Iranian counterpart on Sunday where both men saw eye-to-eye on the paramount importance of bolstering bilateral Lebanese-Iranian relations, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
They further stressed the importance of boosting stability, peace, and balance, and facing challenges.
Moreover, the Lebanese and Iranian delegations expressed willingness to cooperate to seek a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis.
In return, the Iranian President thanked Suleiman for taking part in the ceremony, describing Suleiman's visit as "an embodiment to all the bonds and ties that connect Lebanon and Iran."
