Iranians Rally to Mark Al-Quds Day: Photo Essay

Hundreds of thousands of Iranians rallied Friday across the country to mark al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day in solidarity with the Palestinians and condemnation of "Israel's" continued occupation of Palestinian lands.
The Iranians chanted slogans and carried banners and placards in support of the Palestinians and against "Israel" and its strong ally the United States.
Iranian government officials and military commanders participated in the rallies held in the capital Tehran.
Al-Quds Day is an annual event that began in Iran in 1979 and is observed on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in the Islamic republic and several Arab countries.
