Charges pressed in connection with the Dahiyeh incidents

The government commissioner at the Military Tribunal, Judge Jean Fahd, pressed charges yesterday night against three officers, 16 soldiers and 60 civilians over the Dahiyeh incidents that resulted in the deaths of seven people.
He also pressed charges against an unknown party and anyone indentified by the investigation as responsible for the killing of Ahmed Hamza according to articles 550 and 560 of the penal code and Article 72 of the weapons-regulations code.
Fahd also pressed charges against two officers, 11 soldiers and anyone indentified by the investigation for violating military instructions and firing at demonstrators without the intention to kill, and for causing the deaths of six people and injuring several others.
Charges were also pressed against one officer and five soldiers for violating military-conduct regulations without causing harm to people.
In addition, 58 people - only five of them were arrested - were charged for undertaking activities causing civil unrest, mistreating the Lebanese army, possession of illegal weapons, throwing hand grenades at the Lebanese army and shooting an officer in the helmet.
