The Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei described the "giant step" forward by the Iranian people in the presidential elections in June 14 as a forerunner for greater achievements in the Islamic system.
"With Allah's help, tomorrow will be bright with dignity and an example for all," Sayyed Ali stated.
"We do not know who would be elected as president, since Allah will guide the hearts of people for the candidate they would vote for. However, know that a high turnout will definitely bring about dignity, honor, security, and rejoice for friends and consternation for enemies," Iranian Mehr News Agency quoted the Supreme Leader as saying.
Moreover, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to enemies' propaganda against Iranians, noting, "They launch propaganda because if the people show a great turnout in the elections, this would prove costly for stubborn enemies."
"Those objecting to the Iranian election mechanism have Guantanamo prison, drones over Pakistan and Afghanistan, and full support for the criminal Zionist regime as a source of ignominy," Ayatollah Sayyed Ali said.
"People should vote for those who work for national esteem and resistance against enemies," he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei further addressed the candidates, "The honorable candidates should lead their campaign with enthusiasm but avoid challenging others."
