The war in Syria, uninterrupted for more than 26 months now, is no longer meeting the aspirations of the US, West, and Arabs, after the crisis has entered an irrevocable stage, where reneging on it is just a failure for the states patronizing the armed groups. In the meantime, continuous efforts to ignite fights and flare up clashes have increasingly dragged the West and Arabs into the unknown, with their scheme, aiming to the downfall of Damascus, having retrograded after the achievements and strategic victories of the Syrian Arab Army which is now determining the course of the war. The scenarios of the collapse of the Syrian state system have nowadays become vanishing illusions.

CIA: the war in Syria will not serve the "opposition"

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)-US top security body-obtained information that the war in Syria would not be in favor of the armed groups, currently ailing in their own strategic strongholds in the face of the army which managed to control sensitive posts, something that would allow it to widen the scope of its dominion over areas off the capital. Therefore, the army would be able to tighten its grip over the battlefield and impose itself on the "Free Army" without coordinating with other groups. The CIA actually sees that what happened did confuse and enrage opposition fighters, and even compelled some gunmen to reintegrate in the army.

CIA: Syria War Serves Not Opposition  It adds that al-Nusra Front is taking over weapons coming from Turkey and precluding their distribution on the rest of the factions. "The condition of the Free Syrian Army is miserable amid the increasing hegemony of al-Qaeda's [al-Nusra] Front," the CIA says.

Senior Syrian political and military sources told al-Ahed news site that the US and Russia's top security figures had met behind closed doors, and discussed the exacerbated Syrian crisis, the extended power of Takfiris, and the expansion of their presence along the Syrian soil. They indicated that these groups had headed towards the "prohibited," as they had sought to take over, not just Syria, but also the entire Arab arena, as a prelude to kick off throughout the world, to impose their gory agenda. The sources added that Moscow and Washington had discovered, thanks to their intelligence services, that a number of Arab and regional states, on top of which Turkey and Qatar, were directly supervising, funding, gearing up, and marketing this scheme.

Washington: "Syrian Coalition" has no room in Takfiris project

Moreover, the sources said that the US, seeking to carry on bloodbaths, destruction, and chaos in Syria, had found that protracting this situation would firstly turn back against it and its interests in the region. Washington now sees that toppling the Syrian regime is farfetched, nay impossible, and Obama's administration considers the constant meetings and conferences for the Syrian Opposition Coalition a media hype, having no room whatsoever in the perspectives of the Takfiris' project, and totally useless in the ongoing conflict of equations and alignments. The US administration also notes that it must dash to end the crisis, albeit at the expense of its former positions.

Besides, informed Russian sources conveyed that the US delegation surprised the Russians as they insisted on ending the crisis in the nearest time possible and implementing the full provisions of Geneva Declaration.

The sources also confirmed that Kerry had called upon the Russian officials to urge the Syrian state to sit down for negotiations with the Syrian opposition to discuss divisive matters. He had also given guarantees to the Russians, vowing that the United States will press the opposition to facilitate dialogue and reach an agreement to end the crisis and to pave the way for the political solution.

For their part, Syrian sources said that the US and Russian parties had flicked through other issues to be elaborated further, since ending the conflict in Syria has become a priority now.

Turning to the Syrian domestic scene, the sources admit that the economic and livelihood conditions have worsened. But they maintain that things are under control as various sectors are still operating and new markets are being found. "Since the beginning of the crisis, the Syrian state has rushed to dissociate the work of the institutions from the events," the sources remind. "States conspiring on Syria failed to implicate the vital sectors into the crisis like they did in the countries of the so-called Arab Spring, because the Syrian state managed to cast the institutions aside the military conflicts," they conclude.
