Iran Warns against Spread of Syria Crisis

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stressed Friday the necessity of finding a settlement to Syria's problems by the Muslim country's people, and warned against the spread of the crisis to all parts of the Middle East.
Salehi made the remarks in a message conveyed to his Lebanese counterpart Adnan Mansour by Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Ghadanfar Roknabadi on Friday.
"The Islamic Republic is in constant contact with different regional states to prevent the harmful aftermaths of some regional developments from spreading to the entire region," Salehi said in his message.
In parallel, Roknabadi condemned the recent "Israeli" aggression against a research center in Syria.
"The aggression proved that the US and the Zionist entity seek to strengthen Tel Aviv's security by supporting Takfiri groups in Syria, and destroying infrastructures in the Arab country," the envoy said.
For his part, the Lebanese foreign minister pointed to Iran's leading role in the region and said the Islamic Republic has always taken steps to serve regional nations' interests and encourage unity among them.
"We also believe that the Syrian crisis has no other solution but a political one and dialogue, and we have always underscored this issue," Mansour stated.
