The Supreme Leader His Eminence Ayatollah Imam Ali Khamenei slammed the desecration of al-Sahabi Hujr Bin Oday's shrine, stressing that this crime aims at a Sunni-Shiite conflict.

While receiving a delegation of elections supervisors, Imam Khamenei highlighted that the Islamic community proved its consciousness after the assault and was not fooled by enemies' traps.
Hujr Bin Oday was the Prophet Mohammad's companion, and his shrine is a place of visit to all Muslims.

The so-called Free Syrian Army had declared responsibility for exhuming al-Kindi's tomb and burying the corpse in an anonymous place.
"The international organizations' inertness towards the attack is an indication to their conspiracy in the incident," His Eminence stated.

"It is a tragedy that some reservists in the Muslim community would consider honoring the Prophet Mohammad's Companion as polytheism, since polytheism is when you become a tool for intelligence agencies," he added.
Moreover, Imam Khamenei considered that the wicked Takfiri movement has turned into a true tragedy to Islam today, warning that this secession will not stop at this.

His Eminence further called on scientific, political and religious elites and figures in the Islamic world to take responsibility and stand up to this filthy ideology.
On another note, Sayyed Khamenei accentuated that Iranians' epic and enthusiastic attendance in the upcoming presidential elections will fortify the country and guarantee progress, stressing the necessity to commit to the law in holding elections.

He further pointed out to desperate attempts on decreasing the number of people participating in elections, stating, "Some tried their best to hold stagnant elections or at least postpone it, but it had reaped and will reap failure in Allah's will."
"Iran's power comes from the hearts, emotions, minds, insights, and attendance of the people, and if it weren't for this support, roguish authorities in the world would have dominated the regime that carries the slogan of the Islamic Republic," he stated.
