Tehran - Hassan Haidar

The Islamic Republic of Iran witnessed a series of diplomatic visits in the past few days, deliberating the Syrian crisis. This political movement clearly displayed the immense efforts in finding a solution to the Syrian crisis.

What was noteworthy in this context was the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov's visit to Tehran last week, in which he declared Moscow's interest in advices and analyses related to the Syrian file, and its aim at gathering a huge number of proposals to bring perspectives closer.
Following this visit was a quick Egyptian presidential visit led by Dr. Issam Haddad, Foreign Affairs consultant to the Egyptian Presidency.

This committee soon became a tripartite after Saudi Arabia withdrew, comprising of Turkey, Egypt and Iran only.
As to the Syrian crisis, the visits reiterated the necessity of moving forward with steps to halt arms flow, violence, and fighting from both parties and engage in a political conciliation and dialogue that would hold elections and determine the final image of Syria's future, away from any foreign intervention.

On this note, integrating the Syrian-Iranian cooperation, the Syrian Speaker of Parliament Mohammad al-Laham's visit to Tehran aimed at updating the Iranian leadership with the latest field and political developments in Syria, listening to the input that Tehran reached by coordinating with Egypt, Turkey, and Russia regarding the Syrian crisis, and accentuating the strategic alliance bonding both countries.

The Syrian official listened to several messages from Iranian officials.
The first message stated by the Chief Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili was clear to support Damascus against the cosmic war on it. Jalili stressed the necessity of "enhancing cooperation and coordination between both countries to face the Western and US plot, which aims at striking the resistance in the region."

However, the second message, stated by the Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani, criticized Arab countries, without naming, for participating in Syrian bloodshed. He further expressed the secure trust Tehran has that Syria "will rise stronger than before and will overcome all conspiracies."

He further stated that Tehran is engaged in serious talks with Turkey and Egypt.
"Iran will not allow the conspiracy targeting Syria to succeed," he said.
"A Syrian solution could be achieved only through dialogue away from foreign pressures and dictations," Salehi added.
Furthermore, sources following the Syrian file in Iran, pointed out that Hizbullah's Secretary General's speech clearly stated the plots being drawn against Damascus, and that Iran commits that Syria will not fall into the hands of Takfiris, Americans, and "Israelis". This would reshuffle cards, especially when the other party is well aware of the resistance's commitment to defend its entity, and the extent it would reach to fulfill its commitment.
