Lebanese President , Michel Suleiman, urged the Arab League and the United Nations to protect Lebanon from the repercussions of the Syrian crisis.

Suleiman: Our duty, Right to Liberate Lebanese Land Occupied by In his speech at the ceremony in the Faculty of Law at St. Joseph University, Suleiman stressed that a free, sovereign Lebanon in its Lebanese army is the sole guarantor for the Lebanese.
"It is our right, but our duty to liberate the Lebanese territories occupied by "Israel"," the head of the Lebanese state affirmed.

He further called on the Lebanese leaderships to commit to what has been agreed upon in the Baabda Declaration.
Suleiman noted that Palestinian settlement is not only hazardous on Palestinians' unity but also on Lebanon.

The President stressed that he shall "continue to work in order to preserve the nation and the stability of its parliamentary system", hoping that the Parliament would reach an electoral law that would secure fair women representation and accord the right to vote and the right of candidacy starting from the age of 21.

In parallel, Suleiman underscored "the need to endorse an electoral law that abides by national coexistence formula and joint national life", clinging to parity among sects.
"Our main goal is to kick off the development workshop at the level of the endorsement of the administrative decentralization project, and the fortification of the Lebanese Constitution," Suleiman said, stressing the need for law reforms.

He also announced that it is due time for Lebanon to regain its natural right to declare the city of Beirut as the "city of right" and an integral part of world heritage.
Addressing university students, Suleiman urged them to remain steadfast in their land, indicating that Lebanon was built on the piers of agreement, balance, equity, and national coexistence formula.
