Former Mossad chief Shabtai Shavit reiterated in an interview with the "Israeli" daily Yedioth Ahronoth that the US did not provide service to "Israel" as much as Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani of Qatar did.

The "Israeli" daily quoted Shavit as saying, "It is believed that Hamad Emir of Qatar has provided a great service to "Israel" that has not been offered by countries that backed the Jews such as Britain and the United States over the years."

Moreover, Shavit was disappointed in the position of the US that wavered in the defense of "Israel" and refused to launch a military strike on Iran, and moreover hailed Qatar's attitude towards the anti-"Israeli" Syrian regime.
