Al-Assad Urges BRICS to Contribute to End Violence in Syria

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad urged the leaders of the BRICS countries to end violence in Syria and lift the suffering of the Syrian people due to the unjust and illegal economic sanctions.
In a letter to their summit held in South Africa, al-Assad upon the leaders of the BRICS to contribute to stabilizing the world, stressing that the S group is the hope for the oppressed peopls that suffer from foreign interference in their affairs.
"Syria has been suffering, for two years, from terrorism that is supported by Arab, regional and western countries that are involved in killing civilians and destroying infrastructure and cultural heritage of the country," he mentioned.
In parallel, he called the group's leaders to join efforts as to put an end to violence in Syria with the aim of making the political solution a success, which requires clear international will embodied in ending the arming and funding of terrorism and draining its resources.
The message stipulated: "Representing a huge political, economic and cultural side that seeks peace and security in a troubled world, you are invited to exert all efforts to lift the suffering of the Syrian people due to the unjust and illegal economic sanctions which directly affect the livelihood of our citizens and their daily needs."
Moreover, al-Assad expressed the Syrians' aspiration to work with the BRICS countries as a just force that seek peace, security and cooperation among the countries away from hegemony and its oppression which lasted for decades.
