Al-Assad: Things Better Militarily, Politically, War Long, Opposition DividedHowever, al-Assad assured that things are better on the military and political levels.

According to as-Safir Lebanese daily, al-Assad stated that "we are in a fierce battle against terrorism, and in another against those who support the militants."

"We realize that the war is not close to end, but we are determined to go ahead to eliminate this phenomenon i.e. strange from our society," he said, and noted at the same time that "we didn't close the door for dialogue and won't do that."

Meanwhile, al-Assad highlighted that: "We should know with whom we talk? What are the proposals? Who are the sides of dialogue?"
"On daily bases, we witness the disintegration of the opposition as well as their differences. Let them agree first," he confirmed.
In parallel, the Syrian President reiterated, "we started a dialogue with the internal opposition parties and this has led to positive results, as we raised an integrated reform project ."
"We will engage in dialogue with those who want dialogue, but not if they are terrorists, whom we will fight until the end. Based on our own principles and we did not accept conditions imposed on us at the start of the crisis and we will not do so now," he mentioned.

On the regional front, al-Assad said, according to his visitors, that the alliance with Russia is in its best stages.

"Moscow has not changed its position since the beginning of the crisis," he said.
Al-Assad further assured that "the regime's situation remains much better than the situation of those fighting the state, whether inside or outside Syria, and their supporters."
"Many of those, who supported the militants in the beginning of the crisis, are demanding the return of the as the terrorists continue announcing Emirates of the Islamic caliphate," he said.
