Netanyahu’s Likud Party Threatens Abandoning Coalition

"Israeli" Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu's Likud allies threatened to abandon coalition and move for new elections.
According to reports, "despite the numerous concessions to Yair Lapid by Netanyahu, the "Yesh Atid" chairman refused to change his demand of handling the Education Ministry, while Netanyahu insisted on keeping the former Minister."
"Yair Lapid does not understand that that he is entering as a partner in the government of Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu," Likud MK Danny Danon, a senior party member stated in an interview with "Israeli" Army Radio Wednesday.
"The number of mandates for "Shas" and "United Torah Judaism" together is similar to that of Yesh Atid. If he doesn't understand this he will find himself outside of the government," Danon pointed out.
Danon also claimed that, "there are other alternatives, such as forming a government with "hareidi"-religious parties, or calling for new elections."
A third option, "Israel" National News website mentioned, is that if Netanyahu missed the March 16 deadline and was unable to form a coalition, "Israeli" President Shimon Peres will decide whether to hand the task to someone else or to call new elections.
"Bayit Yehudi" [Jewish Home] chairman Naftali Bennett, who formerly was at odds with the prime minister, has since become the middleman in trying to smooth out the relationship between Netanyahu and Lapid, according to "Israel" News.
