Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Thursday that the enemies are angry at the Iranian nation's wonderful breakthroughs accomplished after the passing of 34 years.
Addressing Experts Assembly members, Imam Khamenei underscored that belief in Islam and maintaining a spirit of hopefulness are the main factors behind the country's progress.
"The ideals of the Islamic establishment are among the necessary elements for materializing Iran's objectives," Ayatollah Khamenei said, noting that such a long-term attitude will help develop a correct understanding about the issues. "The Iranian nation's dignity in the Islamic world, dominance of religious discourse in the society, scientific and technological progress, political and international influence of the Islamic establishment and justice-related infrastructural measures are among the wonderful instances of progress which were once considered impossible before the victory of the Islamic Revolution," His Eminence said.
"Another sign of progress is the enemies' anger and embarrassment, the Imam stressed, noting that if there had not been any breakthrough, the enemies would have not been so angry as they are now."
On another note, His Eminence stated that the next round of negotiations between Iran and the six major world powers of the P5+1 group will be a test of Western sincerity.
Referring to the recent meeting between Iran and the P5+1 -- including the US, the Leader said, "In this meeting, the Western participants did nothing important which can be considered as giving concession [to Iran], but they only owned up to a small part of the rights of the Iranian nation."
"To put the honesty of the Western states to test, we must wait until the next meeting [with the P5+1 group]," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
