The Syrian ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali confirmed Monday that all attempts to sabotage Syria reached a blocked wall due to the immunity of the people, army's cohesion, and the national unity of Syrians.
After his meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, Ali highlighted that "There are great hopes for reaching a solution through political calls."
He further clarified that "the Syrian government works daily and effectively to move into a Syrian- Syrian dialogue in which all spectrums of the Syrian society are included."
Concerning the incidents on the Syrian-Lebanese border villages, the envoy slammed the fabrications regarding Hizbullah's involvement in Syria.
"The Lebanese residing in Syrian territories are directly concerned with confronting the gunmen who attack them," he said, and pointed out that "attempts to spread the claim that the Lebanese resistance is aiding the Syrian regime are refutable."
In parallel, he reminded that the "Secretary General of Hizbullah His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah previously elaborated that people with dual Syrian-Lebanese nationality and so Lebanese on Syrian soil are concerned in facing the militants who are attacking them."
Moreover, Ali urged all people involved in circulating such news to "respect the moral standards and credibility."
"Syria is currently controlling several crossing along the Lebanese-Syrian border and the violations decreased," he declared as he hailed the Lebanese Army's efforts in controlling the border, preventing snuggling of weapons and militants, as well as detaining the armed gangs."
The diplomat also noted that "these attempts violate the brotherly ties between the two countries."
"What the Syrian-Lebanese border is witnessing is really a regular occurrence and the media disseminates what the Lebanese Army and authorities are doing to catch the mobs and gunmen as well as stop arms smuggling," he added.
