Fatima Shaito

It was a so promising day. As the shy sun rays reached down to the land of "Amel"[South Lebanon], the land smiled. The red soil was eager to embrace fruitful seeds; cultivation would be plenty generous- like the cultivation of the veracious Prophet Yusuf's spikes long ago...

When Land Sprouts LeadersIn 1952, Jibsheet bid farewell to summer as the newborn warmly enough carved the prophecy of divine victory in land...

That was the young man with the pure heart, then the chaste scholar who'd never shake hands with the enemy. "Ragheb Harb" was ascetic, and he always looked forward to do the best. He walked through tobacco fields to check the harvest; the brown-skinned man had dreams for that land. Among people he lived; them he served. His unequalled tenderness and modesty touched people's hearts. A loyal worshipper and a young muadin [one calling for prayer], he faithfully served Jibsheet Mosque. The southern earth was familiar with his determined steps as his jihad opened the way to victory...

"Ragheb" was now a brilliant scholar, and signs of the promised victory were revealed to him. He was now "Sheikh Ragheb"- so kindhearted that he soothed the pain of the poor and orphans. Every Friday at prayer, his pure turban brought Muslims together and made them realize the true religion of Mohammad (PBUH)...
His white turban represented faith defeating the black occupation. Now the people of "Amel" yearned after jihad and martyrdom. Wholeheartedly, their hearts prayed for that wherever they went.
"The Martyrs' Sheikh" worked very hard to prevent any from collaborating with the coercive enemy. And he began to act against that venom to prevent it from destroying "Amel".

To everyone, he exposed the reality of collaboration with the enemy and made it quite clear that was haram... Eventually, the voice of Amel's Sheikh began to make "Israel" uneasy, and the echo was now too devastating for "Israel"; that cancerous tumor (as described by late Imam Rouhullah al-Mossawi al-Khomeini (God bless his pure soul)) was being destroyed. Now that this great, popular leader refused the humiliation of shaking hands with the enemy, what could "Israel" do?! He decisively said fighters needed to bear arms against the enemy. Detained later- yet quite determined- he did not end his uprising. People got more attached to his teachings. Now the entire South threatened the Zionists, and the entire homeland rose up like Jibsheet did!

In February 1984, it was time for martyrdom. The enemy decided to put a nail in his coffin on February 16. Now the earth of Jibsheet in "Amel"- so splendid and so good-scented- anticipated the pure martyr's funeral to embrace his body. The young resistance was growing more brilliant, reaching the entire homeland...

A scarlet bridge from Jibsheet to Nabi Sheeth...

When Land Sprouts LeadersThe scarlet bridge led to another chapter of martyrdom. Land sprouted up with grace wherever martyrs went, and daises arouse from their hide as sunlight called them... The black turban that the Resistance Master wore represented the true faith filling his heart. He believed it was a cause so great, and he certainly knew divine victory was close.

Sayyed Abbass Moussawi was more than a leader to the fighters: a tender father whose forehead bore the signs of pure worship to Allah the Exalted in Might. His shy eyes shone with purity and martyrdom adoration. Ever since his birth, he had loved his homeland and pursued defending it. He always sought martyrdom. It was a new dawn of freedom in another February.

He insisted that he be among the fighters confronting the enemy at the very frontline. In the fiercest battles he fought so heroically, and the worldly pleasures never seduced him... And so Sayyed Abbass- a modest leader- lived among the fighters: He fed them and treated their wounds with his own hands. He also soothed their pains and grief. Showing them the unique way to eternal happiness, he prevented "Israel" from putting a nail in the coffin of the cause.

That day, the soul of the Martyrs Sheikh was eager to hear the Resistance Leader make a speech. On 16 February 1992, Jibsheet was marking Sheikh Ragheb Harb's martyrdom. This time "Amel" wore a new wreath of victory. A new dawn came as Sayyed Abbass Moussawi's blood wrote the sacred will: The Islamic Resistance had to keep going on no matter what happened...

Seasons of Pride Will Bloom...

When Land Sprouts LeadersThough much treachery existed, "Amel's" seasons were so brilliant. How could the seasons not bloom when martyrdom scented the soil?! How could the generous spikes bow when they were as proud as the sky, when Imad was so firm?! "Amel" was never meant to suffer that kind of poverty. The Resistance's Imad always made "Amel" rich. Defending "Amel", "Imad Moghnieh" was martyred; the leader's pure blood enlivened it...

The twelfth of February 2008 did not put an end to our land's giving; more glorious chapters of divine victory were yet coming. Seasons of pride will bloom when the leaders' blood sprouts up in al-Quds (Jerusalem). Then, "Amel" shall celebrate Palestine's freedom and happiness... Earth shall see the morning light when Nasrallah is a leader of the conquest. Definitely close is the divine conquest!
