The Iranian embassy in Damascus commemorated on Sunday the 34th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

The ceremony was attended by a number of Syrian political and religious figures.
In his speech, the Grand Mufti of the Syrian Republic Sheikh Ahmad Badr Hassoun confirmed that "since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian people succeeded in overcoming all difficulties through their will and patience."
"The Iranian people surprise the world with its daily scientific accomplishments," he mentioned.

In parallel, Sheikh Hassoun viewed that "the Iranian Embassy turned to be the home of suppressed people on earth.."
"Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Iranian embassies were transformed from enemies of humanity's den to the embassy of the oppressed," he added.
He further thanked the Iranian leadership for its firm position along with Syria and its people in face of the great ordeal it is passing through.

For his part, the Iranian Ambassador in Syria Mohammad Rida Shyibana stressed in his speech the importance and meanings of the Islamic Revolution's victory in 1978.
"The solution to the Syrian crisis can only be through dialogue," he said, and noted that "Iran spares no effort to bring the positions of Syrian crisis' parts into a common ground."
Moreover, the Deputy Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad confirmed that "the 34th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran resembles a victory for the Iranian people, the Arabs, and the Syrians."
He also noted that the "the Islamic revolution not only brought changes to the Middle East but to the entire world."
"This revolution led to the altering of regional equations," Mikdad highlighted.

Meanwhile, he described the relationship between Syria and Iran as organic and solid. "This relation was enshrined by both leader Hafez al-Assad, as well as Head of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini," he said.
The top Syrian official also confirmed that "since its launch in 1978, the Islamic Revolution remained firm in its positions , so we are proud of this revolution and its achievements."
 
To Both the Iranian and Syrian leaders, Mikdad sent a clear message: "The Syrian-Iranian relations are strategic and fateful as they are enshrined by the people of the two countries."
It is noteworthy that the commemoration of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in Damascus, was held with the participation of Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi and a number of ministers as well Christian figures.
