The Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry sent two letters to the President of UN's Security Council (UNSC) and the UN Secretary-General on the "Israeli" attack which targeted the scientific research center in Jamraya in Damascus's Countryside.
The Ministry said that "Israeli" warplanes violated Syrian airspace, flying at a low altitude and below radars, and bombarded the scientific research center, SANA reported.
Moreover, the Ministry stressed that some media reports claiming that the "Israeli" warplanes targeted a convoy heading from Syria to Lebanon are baseless.
The Ministry added that attempts by the terrorist groups to control the location and the direct aggression which followed on the scientific research center prove that "Israel" is the motive, beneficiary, and sometimes the perpetrator of the terrorist attacks taking place in Syria, SANA further mentioned.
The Ministry added that "the Syrian Arab Republic requests that the UNSC issues a clear condemnation of the flagrant "Israeli" attack on the territories of a sovereign state and the "Israeli" violation of the UN Charter, the international law, the Disengagement of Forces Agreement in 1974 and the relevant UNSC resolutions."
The Ministry held "Israel" and its protectors at the UNSC responsible for this aggression, and stressed Syria's right to defend its territories and sovereignty.
On a similar note, the Syrian Foreign Ministry informed Commander of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force in the occupied Golan Heights (UNDOF), Major-General Iqbal Singha of its official condemnation of the "Israeli" violation of the Israeli-Syria 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and its obligations.
