In parallel, the Syria Minister of Awqaf [Religious Endowments], Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyid confirmed that "the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), called for using mind and logic rather than killing and destruction."
''As we are celebrating the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), we recall what he went through and how God made him conquer his enemies...We can draw a parallel with our present situation as Syria's enemies are conspiring against it, and we can infer that the homeland will definitely be victorious,'' al-Sayyid said.
The minister called upon the Syrians to take advantage of President al-Assad's call for dialogue as it is a precious opportunity, urging them to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Mohammad.
After the brief ceremony in al-Afram mosque, crowd gathered around al-Assad to offer greetings and express their support to their beloved president.
The last time al-Assad appeared in public was for a rare speech to supporters on January 6, in which he dismissed calls for his removal and called for dialogue with the opposition whom are not hematic, offering a roadmap to end the war.
