Iran's Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA] Ali Asghar Soltanieh reiterated Saturday that his country "will not suspend its enrichment activities even for a moment."
He further reaffirmed Tehran's firm stance on its peaceful nuclear program.
In an interview with Iran's Arabic-language news channel, al-Alam, Soltanieh rejected Western claims that the latest round of talks between Tehran and the IAEA bore no fruit and added that the upward negotiations have been successful to resolve certain differences.
"In terms of getting views closer together and resolving some disputes the negotiations with the agency were successful," he clarified.
In parallel, the top Iranian official noted that both sides also agreed to proceed with the next round of negotiations in the next February.
He further stated that the issue of the UN nuclear agency's inspection of Parchin military site would be discussed after an agreement about a working plan between Iran and the IAEA.
The latest round of talks between Iran and the IAEA wrapped up in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Thursday.
"Iran and the IAEA reached an agreement on certain issues but no document has been signed yet," Soltanieh revealed , and noted that "we had two days of intensive talks and we were able to in fact bridge the gap to some extent."
