Syrian ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim stressed Thursday that his country "is coordinating with the Lebanese government as well as with the foreign ministry to find all common grounds that ensure the best ways to aid the Syrian refugees currently in Lebanon, and to secure their quick return to areas the government is rebuilding."
After a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Adnan Mansour, Ali confirmed that "Syria is the safest haven for its people and that it secures the dignity of its citizens more than any other country."
He further urged some Lebanese sides to refrain from incitements and end the smuggling of weapons and armed men. "Such acts as well as finding incubating environments for terrorists would have negative consequences on both countries and would trigger more influx of refugees to Lebanon," he added.
On the military level, the Syrian diplomat stated that "We are currently weeding out all the terrorists, who came from all the world's corners and receive financial aids from well-known states.""The international community, with its influential countries and some of our friends, fully realize that Syria is now in full control on the ground," he said, and continued:
" We have succeeded in rallying lot of support among the Syrian citizens to reject this criminal series played by terrorists and set by forces, that seek evil to this region."
