Mehman-Parast: OIC Must Take Urgent Action against Prophet Mohammad Defamation

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast slammed Tuesday the defamation of Prophet of Islam Mohammad (PBUH) in US and European movies and magazines.
He further urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to formulate a convention preventing such profane acts.
In a weekly press conference in Tehran, Mehman-Parast deplored certain western media for promoting and supporting sacrilegious acts against divine sanctities and the prophet of Islam.
In parallel, he stated, "We want those who are behind this move to be tried and punished," underscoring, "we expect the OIC to take urgent action to compile a convention to prevent such acts and not allow these publications to create a rift among divine religions."
This came after several western movies and cartoons were released in western media defaming the Prophet Mohammad.
Moreover, a French journal recently announced its intention to release a number of sacrilegious cartoons against the prophet of Islam on Wednesday.
