Bahrainis Take to Streets on New Year

Bahrainis held an anti-regime demonstration on Tuesday in the capital Manama despite the on-going brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters demanding the withdrawal of Saudi forces and the step down of Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa.
This came hours after the protesters held demonstrations in several towns and villages across the country, calling for democracy and freedom.
Clashes broke out in many areas after Bahraini forces fired teargas canisters and birdshot to disperse the protesters, calling for the release of all jailed activists and demanding that King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa step down.
In parallel, regime forces broke into Jad Hafas village and randomly threw bombs at citizens' houses in the village.
On another note, al-Wefaq National Islamic Society accused the Bahraini regime of manipulating the proceedings of the murderers of citizens under torture despite confessions of these terrible acts and its proof in Basouni report.
The Society considered the issued sentence of two of intelligence agents and acquitting two others in the case of torturing martyr Abdul Karim al-Fakhrawi to death a blunt cover of impunity.
The Bahraini revolution witnessed unrest since mid-February 2011 and many acts of oppression and injustice had been enforced on the peaceful non-armed demonstrations and marches.
