Iran: Not to Allow Foreign Countries Determine Syria’s FateHe further stressed that "Iran is taking careful measures to ensure the Syrian crisis will be resolved through a Syria-Syria solution."
"Foreign powers will not be allowed to decide Syria's fate,"Salehi confirmed, and expressed hope that "the opposition would sit down with the Damascus government and form a transitional government."

In parallel, he revealed that a meeting among the foreign ambassadors in Iran has been arranged in order to discuss Tehran's six-point plan for Syria.
"Our plan is comprehensive and takes into consideration all aspects of the issue," the Iranian foreign minister added.
On December 16, Iran unveiled the details of a six-point plan to resolve the ongoing crisis in Syria, which calls for an immediate end to all violent and armed acts.

The plan also calls for the dispatch of humanitarian aid to Syrians following the end of all conflicts, the lifting of all economic sanctions imposed against the country, and the facilitation of the return of displaced Syrians to their homes.
It also calls on the Syrian government and the representatives of all Syrian groups regardless of their political and social tendencies to hold talks in order to form a national reconciliation committee.

Salehi said Iran is negotiating to resolve the Syrian crisis within the framework of its six-point plan and in coordination with UN-Arab League envoy al-Akhdar Ibrahimi and friendly nations such as Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan which have voiced interest.

"Therefore, the final result of the Syrian crisis and the way that the international community would choose to deal with it can have a decisive role in establishment of new international models for facing the internal conflicts in different countries in the future," he confirmed.
