"Israel" Approves New 1,200 Outposts in Al-Quds, Establishes University in WB

"Israel" announced Tuesday the approval of 1,200 new settlements in the east of al-Quds.
According to the so-called "Israeli" watchdog "Peace Now", the settlement units are to be constructed near Gilo.
The approval, which came late on Monday night, follows "Israeli" committee approvals for thousands of settlement units across east al-Quds and in the West Bank last week.
"This approval from the interior ministry for the construction of 1,200 units in Gilo comes after a meeting on Thursday by the planning committee for al-Quds to hear objections to the project," Hagit Ofran of the watchdog said.
The approval applies to the Mordot Gilo extension of Gilo, a settlement in southern al-Quds near the city of Bethlehem.
It is worth mentioning that in the past seven days alone, "Israel" has approved 5,350 new settler units in East al-Quds, a pace unprecedented since 1967.
"Israel" occupied east al-Quds during the 1967 Six Day War.
In parallel, the Zionist entity upgraded a college in a West Bank settlement to a university on Monday.
The decision gives the "Ariel" campus, established in 1982 near the city of Nablus, the same status as universities inside "Israel". It comes after Tel Aviv government announced plans to expand other settlements on occupied land, drawing international protest.
"For the first time in decades, "Israel" has a new university," "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement.
Final approval came from military chiefs, who formalized a cabinet decision in September.
