The Islamic Republic of Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Rokon-Abadi accentuated that "Iran calls for enhancement of national unity, especially in these critical conditions, and we support unity and stability in Lebanon."
In a meeting with Beirut Maronite Bishop Boulos Matar on Monday, Rokon-Abadi stated, "I am glad to have met His Excellency Bishop Boulos Matar where I gave my greetings for Christmas and New Year, and I would like to congratulate all our Christian brothers and sisters in Lebanon and the world."
Rokon-Abadi deliberated the latest local and regional developments with Bishop Matar, especially Iran's six-clause initiative to solve the Syrian crisis that stipulated ceasing violence and restoring calm to Syria.
In response to the Lebanese resistance's weaponry, Rokon-Abadi reiterated, "We helped and will help those who fight "Israel", and we advocate Lebanese cooperation to confront the "Israeli" entity."
Moreover, as to the file of the Lebanese abducted in Syria, Rokon-Abadi indicated, "The officials in Lebanon are following this file," underscoring, "Humanitarian-wise, we are against abduction and inhumane acts, and we hope that the abducted are released as soon as possible, although we also have a group of Iranians abducted by these so-called democratic promoters in Syria."
