Iran: Our Drones More Advanced than US ScanEagle

A top commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Brigadier General Hussein Salami stressed Tuesday that "the technology used in the US ScanEagle drone is way behind Iranian drone's advanced technology."
"We are among the leading countries in the development of drones tasked with reconnaissance, surveillance and of course other military missions and I state very powerfully that the drone, ScanEagle, is lagging behind our national drone technologies," Salami stated.
He further added that Iran is now using drones with high flight endurance and high operational, radar evading and imaging capabilities.
Commenting on the ScanEagle drone, the senior Iranian commander said: "IRGC forces have the technology to respond to any act of aggression and to bring down and take control of such encroaching aircraft."
Earlier this month, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh had also said that the recent capture of the US ScanEagle by the IRGC was nothing new as Iran had previously captured a similar drone and even copied it for production.
"ScanEagle had been in our possession before and we have even copied it in production," Hajizadeh underscored at the time.
The IRGC announced on December 5 that it had "fully extracted" data from the captured aircraft.
