Gilad: Syria’s Chemical Weapons Protected, under Al-Assad Control

The head of the political staff in the "Israeli" War Ministry Amos Gilad claimed Monday that "Syria's chemical weapons are protected."
In an interview with "The Globes" "Israeli" daily, Gilad said: "Syrian President Bashar al-Asaad has got the message from the international community regarding any hazardous use of this weapon."
"Syrian chemical weapons are still under the control of al-Assad, contrary to reports saying Damascus could lose such arms in the chaos of civil war," he stated.
In parallel, Gilad said "as far as my assessment goes, the weapons are still secure and have not been moved, but we need to monitor this at every moment."
He further cautioned that ""Israel" possesses information that some of these chemical weapons were transferred to Hizbullah."
This comes hours after "Israeli" Vice Prime Minister and Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon told "Israel" Radio on Sunday, "On these matters, we have to be prepared to protect ourselves, by ourselves. ... At this time, we see no sign that this weaponry is being pointed at us."
