The leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine- General Command- Anwar Raja, stressed that "after the painful operation Martyr Jihad Jibril's battalion [of the Popular Front] scored in Tel Aviv, terrorist armed groups attacked our camp in East Gouta, Damascus."
In an interview with "al-Ahednews", Raja highlighted that the attack came at the behest of the Zionist entity.
"The terrorist groups continue to attack and siege the camp in an attempt to invade it," he said.
The Palestinian official further confirmed that "the rebels target the resistance alliance as a clear expression of applying the "Israeli" intelligence [Mossad] commands to avenge the Popular Front, because of its special role in preventing the drag of the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria into the current crisis."
He also noted that: "The front managed to neutralize the refugee camps by establishing the popular committees inside them, especially at the Yarmouk refugee camp."
Meanwhile, Raja emphasized: "The Popular Front's ability to hit in the depth of the Zionist entity made "Israel" push its agents and terrorist groups to attack the front's camps."
""Israel" wasn't able to respond personally to the Front's operation, especially that it has ready tools and cookers," the Front's spokesman said.
Moreover, Raja revealed that "the rebels attacked the Rihan camp located in East Gouta of Damascus," and noted that "the mentioned camp, along the past 30 years, qualified thousands of resistance fighters, who conducted special qualitative operations."
In this context, he reminded of the gliders' operations during the 1st Intifada in 1987.
On the political level, Raja highlighted that "targeting the Palestinian camps lies in the framework of targeting the resistance axis as well as Syria's resistance role, so that the latter would cut ties or turn its back to the resistance factions."
"The Front's military camps are distributed in Damascus Countryside Mountains parallel to the tunnels located in the heart of these mountains," he added.
Furthermore, the Front's official recalled that "the Zionist enemy previously targeted those sites, as in the "Israeli" aggression on Ein Saheb."
It is worth mentioning that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine had issued a press release in which it stressed that its compass will remain directed towards Occupied Palestine.
