Rallies Cover Streets of Commemorating Ashura: Iran

Millions of Iranians in the Islamic Republic despite the harsh weather conditions commemorated the tenth of Muharram, the day the grandson of Prophet Mohammad, Imam Hussein was martyred.
According to Mehr news agency, all Iranian cities and villages have witnessed total closure of shops, banners of mourning were placed and the rallies poured into the streets to venerate the painful incident.
Ashura represents the eternal struggle of truth against falsehood and the battle of just against injustice and cruelty realized by Imam Hussein, as he offered supreme sacrifice to uphold the principles against tyranny.
