Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad condemned the Zionist regime for its crimes and atrocities against the defenseless Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.


Ahmadinejad Condemns He further reiterated that "the Palestinian people are the only ones who have the right to determine their fate."
Addressing a cabinet meeting in Tehran on Sunday, he also said that "Israel" has staged a war against the besieged Gaza Strip in order to secure its survival.

In parallel, the Iranian President condemned urged "the western countries, which have defended "Israel's" occupation of Palestine for decades, to allow the Palestinian nation to control their own destiny."
Moreover, Ahmadinejad contacted his Egyptian counterpart over the developments in Gaza.

"Our human and religious duty obliges us to make efforts to prevent the massacre of Gaza's innocent people and restore peace and sustainable security in this region and also the entire land of Palestine," he said.

He also called for a clear plan to stop the violence and bloodshed in Gaza, urging an international consensus against the "Israeli" aggression.
"It is necessary to make all efforts to stop the massacre of women and children and the innocent people of Gaza and Palestine," the Iranian president added.

For his part, Mursi, expressed concern over the situation of the people of Gaza and said he had been in contact with the leaders of other countries in order to reach an international consensus against "Israel".

It is worth mentioning that the Gaza Strip has been under "Israeli" fire for six consecutive days. The martyrs' toll has exceeded 90, mostly women and children.
