The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) called upon the international community on Thursday to urgently hold a Special Session of the Human Rights Council in light of the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip.

PCHR: Violations of International Law in Gaza Must End The PCHR stated that "The intensification of hostilities following the 14 November 2012 killing of Ahmad al-Jaabari has resulted in widespread death and destruction, and concrete evidence indicating the commission of war crimes."
It further called upon the international community to intervene in order to restore "the rule of law" and prevent more harm to civilians.
The PCHR highlighted "Israeli" statements that indicate marks of a "broader operation", requesting the Human Rights Council to immediately intervene after the failure of the Security Council to reach a resolution to the situation in Gaza.
The Centre pointed out the "Israeli" violations of the fourth Geneva Convention by referring to Article 146, that stipulated, "All States are under the obligation to search for and prosecute all those suspected of committing, or ordering the commission of, grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions, regardless of their nationality or the place of commission of the crime."

It is noteworthy to mention that the "Israeli" aggression on Gaza so far caused many casualties and injuries of mostly women and children and severe damages in Gazan infrastructure. The Zionist entity claimed its brutal aggression as the right of self-defense, although the escalation of events came from the "Israeli" part after the assassination of Hamas leader Ahmad al-Jaabari.
