The meetings of the "Syrian opposition" in the Qatari capital, Doha, appeared to be fruitless as no agreement emerged after several days of meetings.

Doha Meeting Fruitless, Muslim Brotherhood Controls SNCOn the contrary, many negative indications floated to the surface among which are: the "Muslim Brotherhood" control over the General Secretariat of the so-called "Syrian National Council", the absence of women's and minorities' representation , as well as the mass resignations in the board of the council.

This comes as the joint initiative of opposition figure Riad Seif and US ambassador to Damascus, Robert Ford, collided with wide rejection.
Amid all this, the organizers were obliged to extend the opposition's meeting for more 24 hours in an attempt to find a way out.

Meanwhile, the rebels escalated their violence by attacking several Damascus outskirts as hundreds of them crossed the Turkish border to launch a major attack on a Kurdish village.
This led to the death of dozens of civilians and wounding others.

On Seif-Ford's initiative, the opposition decided to extend its Doha meetings for 24 hours. However, it seems that the chances of success are not great, especially after the rejection of the SNC to Ford's suggestion of gaining 20 seats out of 60 from the "National Initiative Agency."
Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood delivered a proposal to initiate Syrian committees which will set the ground for an "interim transitional government."

On Thursday, most of the SNC's prominent liberal interfaces were toppled by the withdrawal of the representative of People's Democratic Party, George Sabra.
For his part, Burhan Ghalioun refrained from running to the Secretariat or playing any role in the Executive Office due to the weakness of his bloc.
In parallel, the SNC expanded its General Assembly from 300 to 420 members.
