Netanyahu Rushes to Patch US-"Israeli" Ties after Obama’s Re-election
Local Editor
"Israeli"PM Benjamin Netanyahu moved quickly to repair relationships with the White House after he gave full support to the re-elected President Barak Obama's rival Mitt Romney.
Hours after Obama's re-election, Netanyahu asked his Likud party to keep quiet as he tried to fix his former positions. He further rushed to invite US ambassador to Tel Aviv to bitterly congratulate Obama on his reelection. Bibi then issued a statement describing the bond between the US and "Israel" as "rock solid."
However, Bibi's Likud Chairman Danny Danon said ""Israel" will not surrender to Obama and his ill-advised policies." It is worth mentioning that after many harsh confrontations with Obama, Netanyahu's Likud Party had given their full support for Mitt Romney.
For his part, "Israeli" President Shimon Peres congratulated Obama while Netanyahu was obviously shaken.
"Given what Netanyahu had done these recent months, the question is: Does our prime minister still have a friend in the White House?" Former "Israeli" PM Ehud Olmert questioned at a meeting with Jewish leaders in New York.
For his part, Interior Minister Eli Yishai said, "This is probably not a very good morning for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."
Meanwhile, "Israeli" opposition leader Shaul Mofaz described Netanyahu's support for Romney as "a rude, blunt, unprecedented, wanton and dangerous intervention in the United States election."
This comes as "Israeli" War Minister for Ehud Barak hasted to congratulate Obama. He displayed his happiness at Obama's re-election when he e-mailed photos and videos of himself and Obama to reporters.
