Paratroopers Brigade commander in Zionist army Col. Aharon Haliva told reservists in the training week opening in northern front Elyakim base, "Rockets will fall on Tel Aviv in the next war, but you will be in the battlefield."

According to Yedioth Ahronoth website, Haliva expressed concerns never mentioned even in the army closed control rooms when he said, "obviously elections are affecting everything that is happening and will happen in Gaza military-wise."
This speech, which directly linked between the current political situation in the Zionist entity and the military decision of striking Palestinian resistance troops in Gaza strip, was stated a while before the escalation on Gaza that led to firing tens of missiles on Southern settlements.

Elite units led by Col. Haliva, including the Paratroopers, are to execute any ground operation in Gaza strip to obliterate the resistance and areas of missile launching. Last year, Haliva prepared the units for an unaccomplished operation in Gaza that was constantly delayed.

In reference to Yedioth Ahronoth, Haliva implied that there is a link between the aftermath of Lebanon's second war and Operation Cast Lead.
"Everyone thinks that the Second Lebanese War was a failure and that Operation Cast Lead was a success. In reality, our northern border has been quiet for six years, but in the south, we've been hit by thousands of rockets and mortars fired from Gaza," Col. Haliva said.
