A mysterious bomb blasted Sunday and led to the death of the Lebanese citizen Marwan al-Qassab in the Northern town , al-Minyeh.
In this context, al-Akhbar" Lebanese daily revealed Monday that "al-Qassab was killed in a blast in his workshop on Sunday evening while trying to make a machine gun for the Syrian rebels."
Other sources mentioned that "he was working on a DShK heavy machinegun to be smuggled into Syria to support the insurgents when a blast rocked his workshop."
However, security sources ruled out the possibility of a heavy machine gun as it is not to explode if free of any explosive materials.
"The explosion site is used to manufacture explosive devices and homemade rockets, in preparation for being smuggled to Syria," the sources confirmed.
According to the information, security forces members rushed to the scene, and found his body shredded by the blast. They opened an investigation in the incident.
It is worth mentioning that al-Qassab is close to the Future party as well as to Sheikh Ruslan Malas, known for his opposition to March 8 and the Syrian regime.
