The president of the Lebanese Republic Michel Suleiman assured that effort should be put to evade internal disputes. Noting the importance of adopting dialogue to resolve issues, he stressed that a state of social justice should prevail on all institutions, most important of which is the international monetary fund.

Speaking at the UNESCO during his inauguration of the World Food Conference, Suleiman said there should be a mechanism to implement international resolutions and compel aggressing and occupiers to retreat before the international will.
"This applies on "Israel" as well for it should cease aggressions against agricultural zones as it should cease uprooting trees and burning orchards to displace farmers," he emphasized.

"Isn't planting cluster bombs viewed as a masked occupation?" he interrogated.
Suleiman assured food security cannot be separated from food safety therefore; he called for activating the role of controlling food products during imports and exports.
Moreover, he announced that the government had begun implementing the agriculture development strategy since 2010 and was able so far to develop the agricultural infrastructure.

Suleiman called for adopting adequate measures to introduce Lebanese products into world markets.

The President praised the agriculture Minister's activities and hoped the World Food Day would be a new start to halt famine and poverty in the world.
