Ahmadinejad: Lebanese Resistance Source of Pride for Region

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed Saturday that Lebanon is a center of resistance and a source of honor for regional nations.
"Lebanon's resistance is a source of pride for the peoples of the region and all those seeking freedom and justice," Ahmadinejad confirmed.
During the international loyalty to the resistance conference in Iran and on the occasion of the second anniversary of his trip to Lebanon, the Iranian President stated that "the Iranian and Lebanese people enjoy several cultural and historic similarities. They both call for peace, justice, and fraternity with all peoples."
"They oppose regional and international occupation, oppression, and arrogance," Ahmadinejad added and pointed out that "the Iranian and Lebanese people call for compassion, resistance, and perseverance."
In parallel, he emphasized that the Islamic Republic has always welcomed the expansion of ties with Lebanon.
"The Iranian nation will always stand by the brave Lebanese people and will make use of the utmost potential to strengthen constructive relations," Ahmadinejad highlighted.
The Seminar was held in Dezful, Khuzestan province, on the second anniversary of the Iranian President's visit to Lebanon and announcement of Iranian city of Dezful and Lebanon's Tyre as sister cities.
