The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said the Iranian nation's resistance against pressures is the cause of enemy's fury.
In a meeting with Iranian talented youth in Tehran on October 3, 2012, Imam Khamenei stated that "The Iranian nation has never bowed to pressure and never will, and this is the cause of enemy's fury."
"The thought that the cause of the arrogant front's enmity towards Iran is adopting certain stances or making certain decisions is wrong," Imam Khamenei noted.
"The cause of all these pressures is the Iranian nation's independent position and not bowing to the hegemonic system," Ayatollah Khamenei iterated.
His Eminence pointed out that "The Islamic Republic of Iran has faced a range of pressures including political, security, military, economic as well as sanctions, though the Iranian nation has not only neutralized these pressures through resistance, but has become stronger."
Imam Khamenei assured that the Iranian nation will achieve the peak of prosperity and happiness by relying on its wealth of talented youth.
His Eminence further warned against losing motivation and stated that Iran's scientific movement is at its early stages and that it is necessary to make up for the backwardness that was imposed on Iran before the Islamic Revolution.
At the beginning of 2012, the US and the European Union (EU) approved new sanctions against Iran's oil and financial sectors. The embargoes aim to prevent other countries from purchasing the Iranian oil or transacting with the Central Bank of Iran.
